A 175–200 seat theater of considerable height and flexibility. Seating configurations include thrust, modified proscenium and round. A large full service beer and wine bar is located in the back of the Davis Theater.One large dressing room that accommodates a dozen people plus a green room.

This spacious reception area has its own bar and accommodates 40 people for a "cocktail" style event.

SideStage/Multi-Use Room
The Sidestage is a 3400 square ft multi- use room that is available to rent for large events, needing more space than the just the lobby and main theatre. It also functions as a blackbox theatre space for groups looking for a more intimate performance space.

Playhouse rental rates include a Woolfe Street staff representative. Depending on your technical needs we may require a house manager and stage technician at an additional cost.

The Village Repertory Co. is a non profit professional theatre company, producing drama, comedy, and musicals with a special emphasis on the finest plays of the 20th Century. As the theatre company in residence at the Woolfe Street Playhouse, our aim is to bring lesser known classics and new works to life in a unique environment: The Village Rep creates theatre that breaks down the barriers between the performer and the audience. We create for our community, from within our community, working with Charleston's local ensemble of actors and artists.
