Considered one of the greatest English plays of the modern era, Journey’s End is set in the front-line trenches near Sant Quentin in 1918, towards the end of the First World War.  The first war drama of it’s kind when it originally opened in 1927, the play gives a powerful yet intimate glimpse into the harrowing experiences of a British Army infantry company, whose story plays out in the officers’ dugout over four days in March, 1918. With a German offensive imminently approaching, each man is trapped, the days ticking by, the tension rising and the attack drawing ever closer.
