Thanks to the ongoing fallout from the pandemic, Village Rep is forced to vacate our home venue-the historic Woolfe Street Playhouse.
Village Repertory Co. has spent 19 years producing powerful, engaging and thought-provoking professional theatre in the lowcountry. For the last nine seasons, the historic Woolfe Street Playhouse has been our home. Village Rep’s mission is to produce socially relevant new plays and musicals as well as classics re-imagined for the 21st century. When Covid-19 forced our doors closed in March we were optimistic that we could weather the downtime and return in the summer focused and ready to begin our 20th season. We have done everything in our power to hold on to our beautiful home venue on Woolfe Street, but the overhead is just too much to carry into the fall and winter while we wait to return to “normal.” In order to survive and thrive, we must vacate.
The Village Rep is taking the show on the road and we need your help to make that happen! We have secured storage for two decades worth of costumes, props and building materials, we have secured temporary office space for our staff and we are busy finding a new home, so that we can offer a season of programming in 2021 to celebrate 20 YEARS of Village Rep. Please help us offset the costs of moving the company and safeguarding the award winning professional theatre company you know and love.

An evening of music and stories under the stars! All the hits you know and love!
The Village Repertory Co. is a non profit professional theatre company, producing drama, comedy, and musicals with a special emphasis on the finest plays of the 20th Century. As the theatre company in residence at the Woolfe Street Playhouse, our aim is to bring lesser known classics and new works to life in a unique environment: The Village Rep creates theatre that breaks down the barriers between the performer and the audience. We create for our community, from within our community, working with Charleston's local ensemble of actors and artists.Learn More Download Brochure
